University Music Major Scholarships: a scholarship awarded to a Music Major who is a Virginia resident attending one of the state’s preeminent universities. This year we awarded three scholarships, one to University of Virginia, one to James Madison University, and one to Virginia Commonwealth University.

Student Symphony Player Music Lesson Scholarships: funds for private music lessons awarded to four student players in the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia.

Educational Outreach Funds:  the Club awards funds annually based on proposals for worthy music projects from schools and organizations in Charlottesville, Albemarle, and all contiguous counties in order to benefit the youth of Central Virginia.

The recipients and their projects funded in 2018-19 include:

Agnor Hurt Elementary School (Albemarle County) - recorder packages

Buford Middle School (Charlottesville City) - clarinets

Crozet & Red Hill Elementary Schools (Albemarle County) - Orff instruments

Fluvanna County High School - guitars, drums, and other percussion instruments

Jack Jouett & Sutherland Middle Schools (Albemarle County) - digital pianos

Louisa County Middle School - clarinets

Nathanael Greene Primary School (Greene County) - ukuleles

Orange County High School - ensemble residency in Italy

Rockfish River Elementary School (Nelson County) - Quaver ClassPlay license

Tye River Elementary School (Nelson County) - Suzuki tone chimes

Walker Upper Elementary School (Charlottesville City) - marimba and horns

William Monroe Middle School (Greene County) - technical music equipment & software and piano lab equipment
